Chase was ready for this. Everything was set up. Everything was ready. The only thing necessary now was to have things not get fucked up. He was in charge of making sure that things at the party were running smoothly. It shouldn't be too hard, he thought. As long as there wasn't too much tension around if some Romans did decide to show up. But, hopefully, it was something that his charisma would be able to handle and deescalate before anything happened.
About half an hour before he had to be at the banquet hall, Chase had finished getting ready and tied on his mask. Checking his watch, the councilman straightened his tie and set off in his car to arrive early to finish up any last minute details that needed to be completed. Unfortunately, this meant that Rose would have to get there without him, but that wasn't necessarily the worst thing that could happen.
When he got to the hall, everything was still in its place and he attached his iPod to the aux cord that hooked up to the speakers to get some music playing. The first handful of songs on the playlist he'd made were typical party songs, though not many were remixes. The man had never really been fond of them, but still later on in the playlist there were a few there. He set the set on shuffle and went over to the light switches and turned them off to allow the blacklights to shine through, causing his bloodstained shirt to glow blue. There was a dry ice machine and fog machine in opposite corners to fill the room to add to the spooky-factor. The fake spiderwebs were covering almost every inch of wall and the tables. Giant spiders occupied some of the webs. Skeletons hung from the ceilings along with ghosts and ghouls.
Taking one last glance around the area, Chase straightened his sleeves once before heading over to start greeting people as they showed up. Hopefully, the first of which being his beautiful date.
