OOC
- Please avoid one word posts. "Bump" is acceptable in want ads and plot ads, and only once every week.
- Be respectful--including staff. This also means that staff need to be respectful to other members.
- PG-13 rating OOC--language, and nothing else. Please don't drop the f-bomb every other post.
- Warning System goes as follows:
First serious offense: warning. (Serious offenses aren't just "Newbie Reminders" as we like to define as non-excessive spam warnings, nudge in the right direction type of reminder, etc.)
Second offense: three day ban period, one week probation.
Third offense: one-to-two week ban period due to severity and/or repetition of offense, one month probation.
Fourth offense: one-to-three month ban, based on severity and/or repetition of offense, six months probation.
Fifth offense: permanent ban. - There will be absolutely NO "meme" or text speaking, talking, etc. It is extremely hard to read, and is very distracting. If we (the staff) see this, there will be warnings. If the behaviour continues, there will be consequences based on how staff see fit.
- Please do not make an OOC account. Staff have them, just so our characters aren't getting overrun with staff posts and such.
[li]God-modding (Controlling another member's character) is NOT ALLOWED.[/li]
[li]Power-Play (Making your character exponentially strong) is NOT ALLOWED.[/li]
[li]There is an unlimited amount of characters per person. Please keep them on the same email account. If you're new to Proboards, feel free to ask someone how to make new characters one the same account.[/li]
[li]Please make sure your character isn't a Mary Sue or a Gary Stu by completing this.[/li]
[li]Please fill out the entire character sheet--and wait for acceptance--before roleplaying on this site. This includes the In-Character Chat Box.[/li]
[li]Any nontraditional weapons MUST be admin approved. Nontraditional weapons are anything that the average demigod wouldn't use, i.e. swords, bows and arrows, daggers, knives, etc.[/li]
Roleplaying
[li]There is a one-hundred word minimum in-character (IC) per post. This is to ensure there is detail in posts. We are all here to improve our writing skills, and this is one way to make us better. Feel free to go above and beyond.[/li][li]There will be NO text-speak in IC posts. The only exception to this is the Social Media board when that is its job/ Everything else is considered spam. Unless your character actually says "lol" or "rofl" or anything of the like, it will not be tolerated. Even if they do, an excessive amount of this language will not be tolerated.[/li]
[li]If a thread is closed, keep it closed. If it's open, feel free to reply. This is just, kind of common, courtesy.[/li]
[li]You are allowed to edit posts for a reason. Please don't have multiple posts in a row, it makes threads look messy--and no one wants that.[/li]
[li]This is just kind of a rule of thumb more than anything else...Do your best to match. It doesn't have to be exactly, or if they say that they don't care about matching. **THIS IS OPTIONAL, JUST A RULE OF THUMB/COMMON COURTESY IF POSSIBLE. Uber-newbies, we forgive you, because we're trying to help you**[/li]
General
[li]Bullying will not be tolerated. If it is character-character, it's a LITTLE bit different. But, if there is this sort of thing going on, BOTH parties need to approve.[/li][li]This should go without saying, but...Be nice. Be caring, patient, respectful. Patience is there because sometimes life happens and someone can't post every time they're online. It happens to all of us.[/li]
[li]Signatures, avatars, and hovers must be of your character. Staff accounts, again, are exempt from this, because they are not actual characters.[/li]
[li]We'll be doing activity checks every six-or-so months. These are to drop characters if you need/want to, primarily (and to keep the site nice and active <3)[/li]
[li]MOST IMPORTANTLY: This is a place to have fun. So, do it! If you need an escape from the world, like I know many RPers do, let this be that place! If you don't trust it for that, and just need something to vent, go for it! What else is fiction for?[/li][/ul]
