On the corner of a small intersection in New Rome sits a bakery, not a single person to be found inside. Past the countertops, on an aged wooden table is a simple leather journal, nothing as to mark it on the front. Upon opening it, the address and owner is marked in faded ink, leading to a no-name apartment in a small and obscure part of Copenhagen, Denmark, in an apartment complex left uninhabited since 2005, yet the first entry starts off in 2006.
ROME, GA.
So this is what America is like? Land of the free, home of the brave? It’s… a nice motto? I’m not sure what to think of it… I’m not meant to be here, i don’t want to get caught here. I was lucky enough to manage to sneak in on the plane with the luggage, that’s for sure. The only thing keeping me around at this point is the fact that it’s easy to forget just another ten year old kid old the run. I don’t know their language here… It only took 10 hours to get from Copenhagen to Atlanta. How long will it take me to get to San Francisco? That’s where Lilianna is, and where I’m going to be.
It shouldn’t take too long, I’m going by bike after all. I didn’t have enough money for a new one… I had to steal one, that’s the only way I could be able to get there in time. Besides, I need money for food and water, I forgot how thirsty biking makes me… I have to stop a lot. I can only go a few hours a day… It’s too dangerous otherwise. I already had to stop for the night. My first night, and I’m stopping in a town called Rome. Apperantally, I’m in Georgia? Makes things more helpful… I should be in Memphis by the end of the week, or at least, that’s what I plan. I just want to get there as soon as I can, but I can’t bike in the dark, I can barely see in the light. Driving in the night would be suicide. And with that, I’m off to get some shut eye. See you in Nashville!
