HISTORY and PERSONALITY* (*optional)
Arianna is absolutely breathtaking. Hair like fire, green eyes of clarity, and a temper to match. She's a budding woman, suspended in time. She's hotheaded and fierce-hearted, even into her elder age of 525 years. No one controls her but herself, and her Lady Artemis. Intimidating even at her suspended body of fifteen (sixteen in two weeks), she's the bane of all of her suitors. She's infamous for seducing men and breaking their hearts, just for amusement. Cruel and hating of men, she is the most against the opposite sex in Artemis's Huntresses, finding them useless and weak.
Her history is complicated, and simple at the same time. Born the third daughter of Caterina Sforza, Tiger of Forli, she lived a comfortable life in the golden days of the Italian Renaissance as a Lady of Romagna. A lively and fierce child, she chased the boys and not the other way around. When she caught them, she didn't kiss them. She pummeled them into the dirt. This continued until she was twelve, when her mother confined her to the castle.
To Caterina, it was clear something was wrong with the child. She had no interest in the company of boys her own age, and constantly was in company with her handmaiden, Maria. She was cruel and condescending to those she disliked, fierce like the Tiger of Forli herself. But her's was an uncontrollable temper, and a savage personality. She got what she liked, even if others suffered.
It was the sixteenth marriage deal to be denied. Although Forli's strategical position in Italy was much desired for travel, no noble family in their right mind would wish to marry their son to a woman like Arianna, even at her ripe age of fifteen. But the Family of Orsini was desperate for allies, especially after the defeat of the Borgia and their decline after. Antonio Orsini was married to Arianna on July Fifteenth, 1505. Two weeks before her sixteenth birthday on August Sixth, Arianna fled her home and joined the Huntresses of Artemis, never to marry a man again.
She grew in favor of the Lady over the years. Despite her savagery and emotional streak, she had a cunning no one can deny. Borderline sociopathic in her facade, she had a way of winning things for her friends and allies, and destroying her enemies. She remained Artemis's dog on a leash, snapping when she needs her to. Although respectful and loving of her Lady, she hated her authority, and her power, both she hungered for greatly.
But deep beneath this monster of a woman, Arianna also hungers for affection, to belong and be respected and loved. She doesn't fit in, and it angers her deeply. She's doomed to always be an outsider, regardless of how many monsters she's killed, how charming she is, how many boys she can make fall under her spell. A demon, but a lonely one. She yearns for companionship, but remains heartbroken after the murder of her handmaiden, Maria, by her own mother's hand.
Now, she remains low in the Hunters' ranks, despite her skill and beauty, because of her position as the dog on Artemis's leash. She will never succeed in her power hungry ambitions, and perhaps she will learn her lesson given enough love and understanding, and less animosity.
