Lena sat on the ledge of the fountain, a simple white drawing pad in her lap, a small leather book bag over her shoulder, which contained all of her art supplies. Lena took out a small set of metallic pens from the bag, using them to fill in some of the details of her elegant drawing of a mermaid. She cherished the set of pens she had now, as they were colorful and rather easy to draw with, the metallics looked very pretty underneath the glistening light of the sun. Lena didn’t have an allowance of her own, but sometimes when her Dada had money to spare, she got a couple little things, like new drawing pens. The ones she had currently weren’t super cheap, but they were super pretty, and Lena loved them.
Lena continued to doodle in her sketchbook, before she put away her set of metallic pens, in favor for a fat and thick watercolor pen. She stroked gently, filling in the background with a streaky aquamarine, Lena’s favorite color. It wasn’t much realistic to the colors of an actual ocean, but Lena wasn’t aware of that, or particularly cared. While she was in Denmark, it wasn’t a long way to the beach, but she had never gone, out of how adamant her mama was that she didn’t go. Her mama was very busy with work, busy with work at a laboratory, and work took up most of hte time that could have been spent at the beach. However, Lena didn’t mind much, little things like beaches and pens didn’t bother her. She just saw them as little things that could make things a little more fun. She hadn’t been in New Rome for a very long time, but she was easy to get used to how things worked, and have fun by herself with her drawings, one of her favorite pastimes. Lena would have loved to read, but she couldn’t buy herself any new picture books, as most of the picture books here were in English, but she had seen a lot of bigger books in Latin, and those had interested her.
Lena looked up, seeing another person in front of her, and out of surprise, she had dropped her pens and sketchbook, nearly falling back into the fountain out of surprise.
I'm searching for something that I can't reach
