Alexander Orion pressed his hand flat against the wood of the door. He didn't not apply any pressure, not yet. He only wanted to feel the presence of it. Feel its texture and complexity and its... presence. It had been two long since his hand had touched this door, too long since the gentle breeze that rolled off of the Sound flowed through his hair. He had missed camp Half Blood every minute of his absence. Scouting missions tend to become boring after the first few days and minds begin to wander. Wander to places you have been, places you wish you were. On those late nights when his inner turmoil get him awake he would watch the stars and think of those places...
...Push ups on the beach of the Long Island Sound, wind catching a hold of his clothing and pressing it tight against him. The sound of life coming from behind him, the gentle push and pull of the tide in front of him. Serenity...
...Late at night in the Eros cabin, staring at the stone carvings of Eros's many lovers that dominated the ceilings of the cabin. Having a beautiful girl laying close to him, nameless and faceless, lost to time and fading memory...
...Lips on his in the darkness. Giggles. Soft sounds of pleasure...
...Broken glass and blood-
Alexander recoiled away from the door. Remembering the horrors of Morpheus cabin on that dreadful day. James. James was long gone. Away with the Hunters. Alexander didn't have to thing about the terror, he didn't have to be reminded of it. Despite his distaste for all things dark. Alexander had a certain fondness for damaged and broken things. James was one of the few that he felt truly close to, however. The man will always have a place in Alex's heart.
Alex heard a noise from inside his cabin. There is no way. Unless... Alexander's heart quickened at the thought of a sibling. A sister? A brother? It wasn't at all unlikely seeing how Eros was quite literally the god of sex. Alexander's want for a special and dear moment with his cabin door faded and he found himself reaching for the door knob. The creak of the door sounded unfamiliar, and what was inside was even more so.
The cabin that stood before him looked nothing like Eros cabin. It wasn't red and luscious and filled with promiscuous statues. It didn't have it's wonderful never ending fountain of heart shape chocolate and condoms. Nothing he loved and cared about was there. Then he realized
"This is Ares cabin isn't it?"

Tick. Tock. The incessant click of the hands on the simple, yet lavish watch adorned on Aurora’s wrists never seemed to cease, no matter the hour it presented on its faces. Yet a noise so faint was only capable of being noticed during the crepuscular hours. Aurora found herself more occupied during the daytime, only once the sun receded below it’s niche in the sky did Aurora find herself to have some time that was truly peaceful and quiet, just as she preferred it. Distractions in all their forms were merely chaotic, something Aurora would have rather avoided in the hours of the night, for once the rest of her cabin awoke, it would all be run amok once more. She found herself sitting down in the Ares cabin, a dim lit held to an old collection of notes she had found from many years past, some of which of which marked for the return to their sender, never finding their way to their rightful owner, instead in the hands of the eldest Aldenberg child. However, these letters were not property of Aurora, but rather, those of her mother, Elise Aldenberg. On on of her earlier visits to Sweden, Aurora had been rummaging through a stack of family belongings, yet her curiosity had been oddly peaked by a mundane stack of letters, a rather odd choice considering the Aldenberg family had a vault of treasures worth billions, passed on from generation to generation.
Aurora heard someone outside the Cabin before she could even take a glance out the window to see who it may have been. With a soft puff of air escaping from between her lips, Aurora extinguished her candle, a wisp of soft white smoke billowing up, the smell of molten wax prominent. Aurora reached for the leather grip of her dagger on her bed, the creaking of the door revealing a figure of a man, one who would have a rather pointy dagger pointed towards his face. Aurora was still in her ivory nightgown, platinum hair drawn into a half up-half down do, accompanied with a sinister blue glare and scowl on a pale face, the face of Aurora Aldenberg. Aurora nodded her head slightly, yet her stance hadn’t wavered in the slightest, Aurora merely angling the end up her blade up a tad, though she was at a far enough distance from the Cabin door to where her blade posed no immediate threat. “Yes, yes it is. What business do you have here?”, Aurora pondered, her voice kept hush, yet commanding and stern, low enough in volume as to not wake Alyssa, or the rest of her slumbering half-siblings, lest this intruder or panty raider wished to be faced with a Cabin of sleep-deprived demigods with more sharp toys than should have been acceptable.

The smoke from what appeared to be a candle traced and outline around the standing figure of a woman. But more noticeable then the nice figure of the woman in front of him was the blade that was pointed in his direction. His instincts that come from a year long scouting run, filled with more monster encounters then should be necessary, moved his hand onto the first arrow in his quiver. Not that it would have mattered seeing how his bow was resting against the wall of cabin five four feet to his right. Alexander, aware of the fact that he was in camp Half Blood and this was just another Greek demigod like him, let his hand fall away from the arrow and rest at his side.
Instead of looking at the moonlight reflecting off the blade Alexander followed the arm holding out the knife towards him towards a face. It was a glaring and sinister face, the kind of face that you could only find on a child of Ares. His lips quivered into a half smirk that he hoped was hidden from her view. He took a gentle half step toward her and reached out his hand, making sure she could see every movement so she didn't accidentally kill him. "My name is Alexander Orion." he said, stopping his movement so that she would have to come to him if she wanted to truly shake his hand or simply kill him. "I have been gone for quiet some time and I seemed to have lost my way to my own cabin. I'm a son of Eros, you see, and I get distracted by my own thoughts" He made sure he let enough of a double meaning into his words so she would know he was just a harmless, horny son of Eros. And hopefully she would catch he was an accidental intruder, not someone who meant to be here.
He was close enough now to see the ivory of her gown reflecting some of the moon's light and he diverted his eyes. The last thing Alexander needed was an offended daughter of Ares in a cabin full of other protective Ares children. "I didn't mean to startle you, I was more startled by you if it makes it any better." His voice softened as he became aware of the sleeping campers. His eyes found the blue of hers and he let out some Eros energy, letting it flow to try to create a more peaceful situation that doesn't lead to his injury or death.

Aurora’s sharp gaze travelled to where Alexander’s hands moved, like that of an archer ready to fire. However, the two of them knew that he was unarmed. However, Aurora wouldn’t have attacked unless provoked to do such. “Well then, Alexander”, Aurora started, a small frown on her face, her voice cold, devoid of much of her emotions, even such a primitive instinct as anger. “Surely you’ll find your way around, that is, provided the patrol harpies don’t strip the very meat on your bones”, the Daughter of Ares said, crossing her arms. The late hours of the night were not the time for Aurora to be communicative with anyone else, as she tended to be more irritable and tense, with the amount of caffeine that was consumed in the daytime.
Aurora cast a glance over the other boy, her eyebrow slightly quirked, though her expression was more one of mild irritation. “Aurora Aldenberg. Hopefully, my parentage is obvious, but I wouldn’t be surprised if I had to spell it out to someone dumb enough to get lost on the way to his own Cabin”, Aurora introduced herself as such, a small scoff and eyeroll trailing her sentence. Aurora was going to follow up her jeering retorts with something far more antagonistic and insulting, but then she stopped, her expression lightening from a scowl to that of a relatively neutral expression of mild displeasure. Such an intervention definately made the difference on the Swedish girl’s attitude.
Explaining the switch in her emotion was difficult, and Aurora didn’t have the perfected logic around it, yet she was not ignorant to such a thing, something had certainly shifted in the disposition the Daughter of Ares presented. A less aggressive Aurora tended to be a far more rational Aurora. Luckily for Alexander, Aurora had no interest in dirtying her gown by suplexing him over a piece of cheap Swedish furniture, as that would have awoken the rest of her siblings as well, there wasn’t much of a reason for her to be the antagonist. “Well, this Cabin isn’t for the cowardly, so if you’re just going to stand here and admit you lack a pair, then you can see your way to the door, and make it quiet, I don’t need to spend my weekend repairing any more furniture.”, Aurora said simply, as she reached to pick up the candle which she had extinguished previously, running her finger over the limp wick, the previously lively flames having been extinguished long enough ago as to not pose a threat to the simple touch.

The satisfaction on Alexander's face as he realized his little bit of energy was able to calm an Ares girl was almost too visible. He stifled it much like she had stifled her flame only moments earlier. He began to feel a little calmer himself, knowing now that he wasn't in immediate danger of getting gutted by this girl. His mouth quivered into a slight smile as her expression shifted into something lighter.
"It's a pleasure, Aurora."
He laid on a little sarcasm. It wasn't exactly a pleasure. She truly hadn't been all that pleasurable. In fact the only truly nice thing she had done so far was move her knife in a different direction then his heart. Alexander wasn't going to take that as all that the girl had to offer. He had been around plenty of children of Ares and knew that, at least most of the time, despite their crusty and hard exterior, there was a softness and sweetness to them. Sometimes, if Alexander was lucky, they were pleasurable.
Alexander was hesitant to move in any direction from where he stood now. He was perfectly in between being truly inside of the Ares cabin and being on his way out of the Ares cabin. While considering leaving, he soon realized he didn't want to. In the literal minute and a half that he had been conversing with Aurora Aldenberg he had grown fond of her quips. Her facial expressions perfectly matched the way her words moved, and it was easy to tell that she said what she felt. Honesty was a hard thing to find in the world, and Alexander saw that in Aurora. Blunt, imprudent, and harsh honesty. Alexander wanted her company.
To be fair, though, he wanted anyone's company. Once you have been mostly on your own for a full year, human interaction, no matter how small, or blunt in Aurora's case, becomes a deep ache, and right then Alexander didn't feel that ache. The only thing he felt was the wonderful feeling of company. Alexander began to long for a different type of company. The type of company the truly leaves you wanting for nothing. He didn't see that in this girl right then, but perhaps with some persuasion.
No.
His ring bit into him just as his thoughts began to. Why was it that every woman he came across suddenly had to become an object of his physical desires? He had been gone for a long time and he hadn't slept with any one in a long time but ruining the first bit of human interaction he has had in a year with some stupid attempt at sleeping with an already mad Ares girl seemed less fun as his thoughts ran on. He soon realized he had been staring. And not only that, but he had not been keeping a hold of his feelings as his desires came to his mind.
They must have been flowing out of his body in the same way his peace keeping feels flowed. He quickly regretted entering cabin five, and quickly after that regretted coming back to Camp Half Blood at all. If this Ares girl got the wrong idea it could be his death, or at least his terrible injury.
"Perhaps I should be going."
He didn't move, however. Alexander didn't make any movements and instead simply watched Aurora Aldenberg with a sliver of a hope that she would ask him to stay.

Aurora was a businesswoman, a manipulator at the most subtle of levels, and she could recognize any sort of temperament, it wasn’t anything unfamiliar to her at all. Advertising, all it merely was is the convincing of imbeciles dumb enough to buy whatever you throw at them, in theory. The Aldenberg Corporation’s products were far more specific, defense systems at such a high cost, such products could not be afforded by the average person, and their market was incredibly narrow, but each purchase provided an incredibly high profit margin, even when production wages were accounted for. Of course, this excluded other businesses that had been bought out by the Aldenberg Corporations as a whole, as a division of profits from subsidiaries went straight towards the large Swedish companies funds, and a portion of that directly to the Aldenberg family themselves, the next generation of Aldenberg's would be all set, in terms of finances, so Aurora had very little worries on the security of the futures of any other relatives she may have had. Of course, this more extended to her immediate relatives, Alyssa in particular. Aurora was rather uncertain of how her future would have panned out, she was growing towards a time where she could see her future with Vince, but that hadn’t panned out at all.
“Hold up, just for a moment”, Aurora said, her tone serious and unwavering, she wasn’t one to fool around, no, playfulness was not in the nature of Aurora Aldenberg, with a frosty exterior and disposition that was rather off putting to most. Perhaps the only few to tolerate her would be Laurel, Alyssa, and Chris. Setting her original candle back into it’s holster of a lantern, Aurora reached for a simple silver zippo lighter, the object fitting neatly between her palms, before Aurora flicked the back of it slightly, a new wisp of flame congealing at the tip, with a small yet rather silenced crack, a warm glow of candlelight filling the Ares Cabin, illuminating the faces of both Aurora and Alexander. Aurora reached for her dagger once more, a longer Celestial bronze blade, yet wickedly sharp, serrated on the side as well. Instead of pointing the blade towards the heart of this man, she merely strapped it against her leg, underneath her lavish gown, before tying up her platinum blonde hair. “I’ll just walk you there myself, I have nothing much else to do at this hour after all”, Aurora said, her voice hushed, as to not wake anyone else dwelling in the Cabin. With that, she moved towards the door, and past Alexander, opening the door for herself and the other boy, rather than waiting for any more action herself, the lantern in her other hand as she walked.
Aurora exited the Ares Cabin, motioning for the other boy to follow her out as well. It was a rather silent night, perhaps too silent. Any of the harpies on patrol, surely would have had enough brains in their heads to not go after an armed and mature Daughter of Ares, provided they valued their own lives. Curfews were made to be broken, after all, and no one particularly cared, or even questioned Aurora’s actions often. “So, Eros, right?” , Aurora asked, her question seemingly resounding to no one in particular, as she stopped in her tracks, as to make sure that she hadn’t walked too far ahead.

The light flickered up between them. Alexander didn't wince at the sudden brightness, instead his eyes narrowed in on the girl. He felt he had seen her before, but he couldn't place it. The flame created shadows that bounced around the room like Satyr's at a bond fire, his eyes danced around with them, then fell back to her. He held up. He didn't know why he was waiting and he most certainly didn't know what end he was trying to achieve. Yes she was beautiful and attractive. The coldness in her voice intrigued him. Her eyes where worth drowning in, and she might drown him literally for wanting to. She was exciting, and excitement seem to have fallen out of popularity in the time of unsteady peace. When she strapped her blade onto her thigh he caught a glimpse of it, and his blood raced a little. He could see himself touching that leg, caressing that thigh, he could see her eyes begging for more... Stop.
He stopped. He stopped thinking about it, just as quickly as he had started. If this girl was going to walk him to the cabin he should just focus on the now, and not lose her by thinking about gaining her. Alexander followed her out of the Ares cabin, once again becoming acutely aware of the sleeping killing machines. He was far more careful from then on. The son of Eros noticed another particular face. One he had seen in a nightmare, another time, another place. Alexander pushed the thought away and followed Aurora out into the night air, looking to the sky and the stars. "Yes, Eros. I'm an only child so the cabin isn't very big. And it is certainly lonely." Alexander didn't know if he was an only child, and probably wasn't knowing Eros, but he didn't know any of his siblings, never met one even. His father didn't even grace him with his presence, and sent a deer turned human to do his work for him. The ring that Eros had given him sent out a reminder of its presence, a sharp pain flowing through his finger. When the deer had said to him that it would help suppress his feeling Alexander had imagined like an antidepressant but in ring version. Alex certainly didn't expect to be put in pain every time he had a stray sexual thought about someone, or became sad. The son of the sex god began to feel like his father didn't put much effort into the ring, and only did it because he knew he had to. He looked over at Aurora. "Hey, I know this is a strange question, but what did your father give you when he claimed you?" Alex quickly slipped off his ring and held it out for her. "This is mine, it's a ring meant to suppress emotion." He thought about that for a moment. "Well, that sounds strange to you but, as a son of Eros, I feel a lot, too much." He remembers the thoughts of her he had in the cabin and is pleasantly surprised that he didn't have the ring on to hurt him for thinking about it. "It bites me every time my feelings get the better of me, as a reminder." The son of Eros looked sidelong at Aurora. "Try it on."
