AND I'M STARING AT THE MOON. I SAW A SHOOTING STAR, AND I THOUGHT OF YOU. IF YOU WERE HERE I'D SING TO YOU.

Prim was glad to be back in New Rome. Although she may have alternated between the two cities, she still considered this place to be an important part of her, as well as her heritage. No matter where she lived, she was still always and forever a Roman. Where she lived wasn’t enough to detract from who she was, that was clear enough. Though, Chicago and California were very different in terms of climate, and although it was nearly September, it was still pretty warm. That wasn’t a bad thing though, except the fact if she didn’t wear sunscreen she would definitely get sunburned. The city was fairly quiet, as usual. Everyone was either working or off in the Legion. Hopefully anyone training was keeping hydrated and wearing sunscreen. Going for long periods of strenuous exercise like that without proper care for yourself with necessities like water and shade was never a good thing, at least in Prim’s opinion. It worried her a tad, with Calla. She didn’t want to hear about her sister getting heatstroke anytime soon, not that she really thought it would happen. Or at least she hoped not. Thankfully, it was a bit cooler than earlier in the summer months, which was always a good thing.
Prim hadn’t been around for much time, and the first thing she decided to do was go window shopping. There was so much to see, so much to do. Things have changed since then, people coming and going, though for certain it was still the same place. In particular, there was something that caught her eye. A cute bakery, with plenty of colorful assorted treats in the wide glass windows of the styled building. Sweets were sometimes funner to look at than eat, and it was amazing just what some people could come up with that was appealing to both the tastebuds and the eyes. And she was definitely eyeing those cute little green macarons. There was so much to choose from here, all different varieties of foods. Who didn’t like cream puffs? The place wasn’t too packed either, the only people who seemed to be around were an older couple at a table by the window, and the blonde boy behind the counter, who was singing horribly off key to Taylor Swift’s Shake it Off as he iced a pastry. He didn’t seem to notice her though, which was okay. She needed more time to decide, which was hard because everything looked so good and it wasn’t too expensive either. It was in the middle of the day too, most of the Legion was either at work or training. Prim didn’t really know what was up with them as much, despite the fact that her twin sister was Praetor.
Prim pressed her fingers against the glass, trying to catch the attention of the boy behind the glass in a way that wasn’t too rude. Whatever he was doing, she didn’t really want to interrupt it, even though she was kind of hungry, and had decided on what to get for once. She didn’t want to wait for too long, and then change her mind again. She tended to have that problem at restaurants, where she just saw too many things that appealed to her. It was the same with this bakery, which seemed to have anything that she could have wanted. Thankfully, there was someone else around, who seemed to be working here too, considering that she had just walked from what looked to be the kitchen in the back with a plate of steamy hot pastries. Just as Prim had noticed her, she noticed Prim, before her attention turned to the boy, who was clearly tuned out, his focus directed to what was on the radio as he was icing pastries. The older woman set the pastries down on a rack, before grabbing a wooden spoon and proceeding to smack the boys face incredibly hard with it. Even though she was a foot shorter than him, she hit harder than nearly anything she had seen, and yelling something at him in another language… Ouch. Prim couldn’t help but chuckle a bit, as she stood in front of the register. Rubbing his head, the boy went over to prim and took her order, taking out her order. Thankfully, she didn’t decide on anything else, and settled for a cream puff and a slice of white cake with a strawberry on top and chocolate sauce. Once Prim handed her cash over, she went to go sit at one of the round tables on the side by the window, her legs kicking around slightly. The blonde boy came back with her plate, and Prim had already started eating. She got sidetracked after that, and hadn’t really noticed if anyone else had come through the doors as well.
