Calix didn’t understand the logic behind going on a vacation if you were going to pack every single one of your belongings. He expressed this thought to Calla as he sat and watched her dump the contents of her closet into multiple suitcases. He had his own suitcase of carry-on size wedged between his knees and his chin in his hands as he tried to dissuade her from practically moving. Of course, Calix never won any argument he had with his best friend and ended up pulling his suitcase and one of Calla’s to the airport terminal the morning of their flight.
They deserved this vacation. They deserved this two weeks away from everything and everyone and just having each other. And they decided that if they would spend time away, they’d do it in the best place in the world, Rome. Ever since they made the plan, Calix began a countdown in his mind. Now they were down to the last hour. They checked in their bags at a fairly empty line, understandable since the sun had just risen. Calix picked up Calla when most of the camp still slept, something that she did not appreciate at all. Thankfully, Calix knew his best friend well enough to have a full-proof backup plan. Unfortunately, that plan had to wait until after they received their boarding passes and were able to walk to their gate. Until that time, Calix made sure to treat Calla very gently and with a lot more ‘I love you’s thrown in than usual. They made it through security with only a bit of grumbling and once Calix picked up his backpack, he made a beeline to the first coffee shop his saw.
Calix returned soon with the cup and handed it over. “See? You made it.” He smiled at her and bent to kiss her cheek. “And now we don’t have too long to wait.” He held out his hand.

[googlefont="Pacifico"][attr="class","titlelyricone"]Right from the start [attr="class","titlelyrictwo"]You were a thief, you stole me heart--and, I, your willing victim[break] [googlefont="Arimo"][attr="class","bigtemplate"] [attr="class","postycontainer"] [attr="class","postytextbox"] The night before, Calla had backed probably a quarter of her belongings (excluding things that were completely unnecessary) into two suitcases, and her dance bag...and her laptop, tablet, camera, and a few other things that she could need in her carry-on. She remembered Calix complaining about how she didn't need to take that much with them, but, he should have known her well enough by now. Even at Christmastime, when she would go to Chicago, it would be the same amount packed and shipped out. It was never something that could be evaded. Besides, this dance competition was going to be insane. The two ran through their routine a few times in Calla's basement, just like they always did the night before a competition. This time it was different, though. This time, Calix and Calla weren't showing off their talent in the US, but in Rome. The girl's big dream (well, one of them) was finally coming true. [break] It was about midnight when the legacy of Mars finally finished packing, and around the same time Calix had gone home--despite the protests of Calla towards her mother for a good half hour or so. After he had left, the blonde couldn't fall asleep. She would close her eyes and count sheep forever. She tried sleep hypnosis, and that didn't work--much to her surprise. She even tried just listening to music, but still nothing worked. It wasn't until about a half hour before Calix was supposed to come back did she finally fall asleep. [break] That hour wasn't nearly enough. Calla rolled over and protested every attempt Calix had made to wake her up. It took him to literally pick her up out of her bed in order to even open her eyes. Even then, she just curled up into his arms. The two had breakfast at her house, just to save a bit of cash (even though the trip was all expenses paid). Despite having two cups of coffee then, she still wasn't awake. As Calix packed up the car, Calla barely pulled herself together to get dressed, and hardly cared about putting makeup on. Calla forced herself down the stairs, and went straight into the car--falling asleep almost instantly when they got on the road. [break] She was woken up by the sensation of parking. Stretching and yawning, the girl blinked a few times and then smiled when she saw Calix again. Maneuvering around like a zombie (just as she did when she had morning duty at Camp), Calla followed Calix around, going through the motions of the airport, until he had made his way to a coffee shop. She smiled, again, at him when he returned and handed her a cup. The girl yawned again, and took a few sips of the hot, black coffee. She took a few steps toward him when he held out his hand, and rested her head on his chest. "Barely," Calla mumbled through a yawn. "All thanks to you," she smiled. Calla nuzzled his chest, lightly, and smiled, "I love you."[break][break] Calix Kiril[googlefont="Arimo"][attr="class","akisignaturepleasedonotremove"] ⒶⓀⒾ[break][break][break][break][break][break][newclass=.titlelyricone]width:500px;font-family:'Pacifico', cursive;font-size:26px;text-shadow:#9a3abe 2px 3px 4px;line-height:28px;color:#e2e2e2;[/newclass][newclass=.titlelyrictwo]width:500px;font-family:'Pacifico', cursive;font-size:16px;line-height:9px;text-shadow:#9a3abe 2px 3px 4px;color:#e2e2e2;[/newclass][newclass=.bigtemplate]margin-top:-16px;width:450px;padding:10px;background-color:#e2e2e2;[/newclass][newclass=.postycontainer]position:relative;[/newclass][newclass=.postytextbox:hover]opacity:1;[/newclass][newclass=.postytext]padding-top: 50px;[/newclass][newclass=.postytextbox]padding:10px;width:350px;height:190px;position:absolute;top:0;left:0;opacity:0;background-color:#e2e2e2;-webkit-transition: all 0.7s ease;transition: all 0.7s ease;color:#9a3abe;text-align:justify;margin-left:40px;margin-top:20px;font-size:11px;overflow:auto; font-family: ‘Arimo’, sans-serif; font-weight: Bold 700 Italic, Bold 700, Normal 400 Italic;[/newclass][newclass=.postytextbox::-webkit-scrollbar]width:5px;[/newclass][newclass=.postytextbox::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background:#9a3abe;[/newclass][newclass=.outfitboxy]margin-left:-160px;text-transform:uppercase;text-align:center;font-family: ‘Arimo’, sans-serif;font-size:11px;width:60px;height:15px;padding:5px;background-color:#e2e2e2;color:black;[/newclass][newclass=.tagboxy]text-align:center;font-family: ‘Arimo’, sans-serif;font-size:11px;width:130px;height:15px;padding:5px;background-color:#e2e2e2;color:#9a3abe;margin-top:-41px;margin-left:70px;overflow:auto;[/newclass][newclass=.notesboxy]text-align:center;font-family: ‘Arimo’, sans-serif;font-size:11px;width:210px;padding:5px;background-color:#e2e2e2;color:#9a3abe;margin-top:-5px;margin-left:-11px;[/newclass][newclass=.akisignaturepleasedonotremove]text-align:center;font-family: ‘Arimo’, sans-serif;font-size:8px;width:210px;color:#9a3abe;margin-top:-140px;margin-left:-474px;-webkit-transform: rotate(-90deg);[/newclass]

A lot of the time, Calix found the prospect of dancing in front of a large crowd of people very intimidating. His parents thought it was funny how he had wanted to lead the Legion, a job that required speaking and commanding in front of a large group of people almost on a daily basis, and yet couldn’t handle performing. But he had his reasoning. Calix knew how to command. He liked it. He dared to say he had a talent in it. Those talents didn’t translate over to dancing. It took him the longest time to learn the simplest of moves when he was only a child. Even now, he’d consider himself to only be mediocre. Somehow he made such a good partner to Calla that it landed them in this competition. It freaked him out to say the very least. But he had Calla by his side and felt very lucky that he did. And not just because she made a great dance partner… she generally made a great life partner. That’s why he asked her to be his girlfriend after all.
He stopped in the middle of the path when Calla came close to him and placed her head on his chest. He smiled. Calla looked happy. That’s all Calix cared about right now. Wrapping an arm around her, Calix moved them out of the way to the gate area where they waited for no more than half an hour for their flight to begin boarding. By that time, Calix had finished his latte and felt the right amount of energy to endure a twelve hour flight. The thought of being stuck in a plane for that long made Calix’s neck hurt, but he was determined to endure it. Plus, the plane had monitors behind every seat so he could catch up on all the movies he missed that year. As an added bonus, the companies supporting the competition had paid for everything… including first class seats. So he strapped himself in the ridiculously large seat and grinned at Calla. For a moment he forgot about his nerves pertaining to the competition. “I’ve never flown like this before.”
