[attr="class","YAMtext"] Gah. Today, Eliza had been assigned patrol. Besides her half-sister, Laurel, who was Taxiarhos, Eliza held one of the higher ranks in the Cabin, and with that came a couple of added responsibilities. She would occasionally oversee a small group around patrol time, but this time she had opted to go alone, as there was already a group around the other side. of course, Eliza went horseback. She felt more comfortable on the back of a horse, specifically her own horse, Agnes. Agnes wasn’t like the other horses at the camp, for the fact that she wasn’t a pegasus. Instead, she was Eliza’s own horse. She was lent a stall in the stables for her. After all, she had arrived on horseback and it would be pointless to waste breath and send a horse back to where it came from, especially one that was so attached to it’s owner. Eliza galloped along the hill, paying to the slippery slope that her mare treaded on. With a loud whinny to snap Eliza out of her thoughts, Agnes had lost her footing, and was galloping furiously and far faster than Eliza had anticipated. “Agnes!”, Eliza yelped, her grip tightening on the reins, but to no avail. The chestnut mare whinnied and hollered in the Hungarian girl’s tight grasp, each bucking second threatening to loosen the grip that Elizaveta held on the horse. With a final kick, Eliza was sent soaring through the air, along with the content of her bags. On impact with the ground, the swing of her legs met solid rock. Eliza muttered a curse as she felt her leg scraped harshly against the rock, her head smacked against the dense forest floor. Her blood spilled, so close to the border was so tempting for the monsters who preyed outside the camp’s borders. Thank god it wasn’t in the woods,or she’d be running into some real trouble there. her head throbbing and knees wobbly and shaken, Eliza pushed herself up from the ground, collecting her belongings, which consisted of many doujinshi and defensive weapons, say she encountered a rogue monster or worse, a Roman. Eliza began the march back to camp, her bag swung along her back with ease. She hid her pain well, despite the slow trickle of blood seeping from the scrape wound. She would have been fine on her own, but she knew that there was a chance of infection, considering how dirty the wound had gotten on the floor of the hill. She hoped she hadn’t scared any of the newbies who would make their first trek up the hill soon. A fresh bloodstain was enough to instill fear in a small child’s head. Likely, they knew of the dangers the real world brought. And that was not including their not-so friendly neighbors on the West coast. Eliza pushed open the doors to the infirmary, a small gasp for breath escaping her lips. Her head spinned rounds, and she leaned over the doorway, panting breaths loud enough to alert someone to her presence. “I got in a bit of an accident, my horse flung me off on the hill”, she muttered, blinking her wide green eyes. |
