((So yeah, I'm going to be using two characters for this rp, but I'll post as Flint. It's open, so anyone with plot ideas, or who is just interested in joining, shoot me a pm!))
Flint Solus was back in New York. Again.
It seemed as though nothing could keep him away from his home. Supply runs for camp usually ran through the city, and Flint was sometimes assigned to them. He liked being on these missions. Living in camp sometimes became boring, and the supply runs allowed oppurtunity for Flint to get out and see the world. To go on adventures
The Hermes cabin got various supplies from different cities across the east coast. Flint was in the city to get a crate of junk food. Campers had quite particular tastes in junk food and energy drinks, and the Hermes kids knew an older demigod who lived in the city by the name of Gideon. Gideon was a strong Ares kid aged 21 years. He often gathered supplies from around the city for camp, motivated by the fond memories of the childhood he spent there. He lived in an apartment pretty close to Flint's, which meant the Son of Hermes would be able to stop in and say hi to his mother. But before he could do that, he'd need to pick up supplies.
He was flying over towering buildings, sitting atop the dark pegasus, which went by the name of Ghost. Ghost was the pegasus which Flint preffered to ride. They seemed to have a connection. When they flew, they flew almost as a single organism, weaving in and out between structures, not colliding with anything.
Flint's partner wasn't faring so well. Jasper sat atop a honey colored pegasus with a platinum colored mane. The son of Apollo had only been at camp for a year, and Jasper was reasonably new to the whole 'crazy-ass flying horse things'. The blonde boy and his steed navigatied shakily towards their destination; a multistorey apartment block with slate grey walls. Windows lined the walls, through which the boy's could see people going about their daily business. They tied their horses in an alley near the building and walked inside.
They entered a small, warm lobby, and at the end of the room there was an elevator. The demigods walked into the elevator and hit the button that would send them to the fifth floor. Calming elevator music played as they ascended, and Flint smiled to his friend.
"Cool to be back in the city right?" he asked excitedly. Jasper nodded lightly, looking a little queazy. His pegasus had given him a touch of vertigo.
"Yeah, but it sort've feels weird. Being at camp felt like living on another planet, and to be back, well...". Jasper didn't need to finish his sentence when the elevator door opened to take the boys into an eerily quiet hallway. The nearest door to them, the wooden door to Gideon's room, was open wide. Jasper and Flint exchanged a nervous look.
They rushed into the room to find the place trashed. Shelves, couches, clothes- they were thrown everywhere. Oddly, the supply crate was sitting right in front of Gideon's tv, seemingly untouched. Flint drew a pistol and moved towards the crate, signalling with his free hand for Jasper to check if the room was clear. He opened the large green crate, to see that it was crammed full of junk food and energy drinks of different brands. But on top of the supplies sat a note:
Flint.
I pissed off some Romans. Really badly.... Their scouts were honing in on my place, and then some monsters showed up. Gotta run, enjoy the supplies.
P.S. Don't worry about me. I don't want you following me and getting yourself hurt. The monsters are dead, but I think I can see the Romans outside. I'll be fine. Seeya!
Flint frowned. Romans in New York, Greek territory? That didn't add up. He showed Jasper the note as he fished two cans of Monster energy from the crate. They had done their job. They had secured the supplies, and a carriage with some Hermes kids would show up soon to take the treasure back to camp. But Flint was worried about Gideon. He knew the older half-blood didn't want him to pursue him, but Flint rarely did what he was told. Jasper could tell what Flint was thinking just by looking at him.
"Flint I know what you're thinking... But Gideon will be fine, I hear he's a big guy, and I bet he can handle some Romans" Jasper said, sipping from his drink. Flint shook his head, unsure what to do. To look for Gideon and risk danger, or to go home and feel guilty if Gideon was hurt. Something suddenly dawned on him. What if Gideon had been captured, and the supplies were simply a trap. For all the boys knew a group of Romans were ready to pounce on them, weapons blazing. Flint looked to Jasper, eyes wide.
"We should probably get going, we can chill at my place for a while. Those Romans could be watching us right now".
Before leaving, Flint moved to the window, looking out into the night to see if he could spot any lurking legionaires.
((sorry the post is a little all over the place. I promise they'll be a lot better after this one!))
