Here is where I will post headcanons. The first is a little fic about Flint and Jasper on a night out. It takes place after the dance rp. Enjoy!
Part 1
Part 1
Two friends were on a night-out. They'd left Camp Half-Blood for the Big Apple, the great New York City, the city in which both boys grew up. Being in the city brought up countless memories, both good and bad. But the good memories by far outweighed the bad. The two boys had known one another since kindergarten, and had been inseperable ever since. That was, until Flint left for Camp. Luckily Jasper had later been brought to camp, discovering they were both demigods.
The boys were headed to a teenage nightclub, a club that opened it's doors every month or so to anyone within the ages of 15 and 17. Jasper and Flint fell into this age range, and so they decided to attend the event. They'd reached the city on their pegasi, who they left in a dark alley near the club, along with their weapons. The two boys were always ready to fight back if they were attacked by monsters, and they knew from personal experience that New York was teeming with horrible beasts waiting to devour the two boys.
Jasper looked to Flint, who was wearing a pair of faded blue jeans and a white t-shirt with designs on it. The outfit greatly contrasted with Jasper's red t-shirt and grey jeans. Jasper smiled at his friend.
"You ready for this bro?" he asked with a smile. Flint rolled his eyes
"Of course I'm ready man, I am going to tear up this joint. By the time we're leaving, the ladies will be sobbing, asking us to stay a while longer." Flint grinned, his voice containing large quantities of sarcasm. Jasper shook his head, laughing.
"If that was the case, what would Lyra Steele say eh? And don't tell me you don't know what I'm talking about, I saw you two at the dance" he said, clearly amused. Flint's face went red.
"Dude, you know nothing about that, we're just uh, friends... Shut up!"
"Friends with... Benefits!"
"I really freaking hate you Jasper" Flint grumbled, but his little mood swing was already giving way to laughter.
They came to the club door where a bouncer searched them before allowing them in. They entered a large open room, filled with teenagers dancing. Guys were trying to sweet-talk girls, who looked at them with disgust before walking away. There was a stage on the far side of the hall, where a DJ was spinning tracks, currently playing the song 'Turn Down for What'. Jasper had heard quite a lot about these types of events. Most people came just to try make out with people. Many people drank alcohol with friends before coming to the event, in the hopes that liquor would make the club more enjoyable. But Jasper and Flint came sober, and they came for only one reason. They wanted to be normal for a while. They spent weeks at camp training to fight monsters and going on quests. Jasper was convinced he could work as a surgeon at this stage, after all the medic training in Apollo cabin. That was crazy, he was only 17. They rarely got to act like ordinary teenagers, and the boys planned on doing that tonight. Jasper and Flint joined the massive crowd of teenagers. Flint yelled out in delight and started dancing crazily. Jasper wasn't enjoying the crowd quite as much. People were pushing him around to get by him, and creepy girls were giving him the eye. He began to question why he'd even come. He'd always been one to enjoy being alone, rather than in a huge room with a few hundred kids. But then he looked to Flint and was reminded of why he was here. Flint looked thrilled, delighted to be where he was. He fit right in with the dozens of nearby teens who were dancing to the beat of the song. Jasper began to feel quite nervous, like he was a soldier in disguise behind enemy lines, and his façade was about as see-through as something Nicki Minaj would wear while performing on stage. He tapped Flint on the shoulder and yelled in his ear, his voice competing with the music.
"I need a drink, I'm hella thirsty!", he yelled. Flint nodded and led the way through the crowd.
Letting Flint lead was a lot easier. He seemed more at home in environments like this, and was able to push through the crowds as if it was second nature to him. They made it to a small bar, serving 'non-alcoholic beverages'. Flint chuckled when he heard that, amused at how lame the name sounded. Jasper got a pint glass full of water and Flint asked for a can of Monster energy. Jasper wasn't sure where Flint kept all the energy he had. He always seemed ecstatic, and bubbly, which was a good thing. The boy always seemed to cheer Jasper up, even when things seemed to be at their worst. Jasper sipped his water while Flint downed the can, already paying for another one. Jasper noticed a girl with blonde highlighted hair stumble out of the crowd, stopping by the bar. She was wearing a short pink dress, which probably had some kind of name. But Jasper wasn't exactly well rehearsed in fashion terminolgy, so he opted to simply call it a party dress. The girl was a demigod, one he'd mentioned to Flint not moments ago. Lyra Steele was sitting on one of the chairs sipping a glass full of what looked like lemonade. A guy who looked a bit too old to be at the club approached her, smiling and saying something Jasper couldn't hear. Lyra smiled and turned away from him, as if to say 'thanks, but please leave me alone'. The guy placed a hand on the girl's waist and she turned back to him, swinging a hand to slap him in the face. The older guy recoiled and moved away from her, clutching the part of his face that Lyra slapped. Flint had spotted the girl now, and Jasper looked to his friend.
"Go talk to her, she probably needs it dude", Jasper said. Flint nodded.
"Be right back Jass"
As Flint moved towards Lyra, Jasper scanned the hall, observing te variis groups of people. There were the generic dancing teens, groups of guys looking for girls to charm, couples sitting at couches, and then there was the girl. She had dark hair, pale skin, and was wearing a black dress, similar to Lyra's. She was staring at Jasper from across the hall, an expression on her face that screamed 'I want to kill you'. Her eyes were piercing, and almost appeared to glow. Jasper gulped, and looked to where Flint and Lyra had been sitting. But they were gone. Jasper cursed and started walking back into the crowd, and could already see the dark haired girl move in his direction.
There wasn't a doubt in Jasper's mind that she was a monster.
